Emerson to supply automation technology for biomass boiler in Poland
Emerson Process Management will supply its automation technology to Foster Wheeler for the new biomass boiler being built at the Polaniec Power Station in Poland.
Foster Wheeler is building the 190MW biomass-fired circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boiler island for plant owner GDF Suez.
Emerson will provide its PlantWeb digital architecture with Ovation control system to provide flexible and accurate control of critical combustion process.
Emerson's Ovation system will consist of embedded advanced algorithms and proven control routines that continually adjust the combustion process to account for the varying characteristics of biomass fuels.
Foster Wheeler president & CEO Energia Polska said that its CFB technology will provide solutions for effective co2 reduction in power generation through large-scale 100% biomass utilization.
