GE powers Poland's new 1.99MW agricultural biogas project
Poland has commenced operations at the new 1.99MW agricultural biogas power plant located in the village of Konopnica, north of the city of Rawa Mazowiecka.
The plant is powered by two of GE's Jenbacher J320 gas engines that produce electrical and thermal power with an electrical efficiency of 40.8% and total efficiency of 86.6%.
Employing the 'dry fermentation' biogas production technology provided by German-company Agraferm Technologies the plant F&M converts local agricultural products into a renewable biogas that then used as fuel in GE's Jenbacher biogas modules to produce clean energy.
Bio-energy Project general director Zofia Ossowska remarked that the plant is a reflection of the country's commitment to expand investments in biogas plants.
GE Power & Water regional sales leader Michal Oprzadek added, "Our Jenbacher gas engines offer the fuel flexibility needed to accommodate natural gas or alternative fuels such as biogas while offering the industry's highest levels of reliability and availability."
